The main lounge has a large TV and DVD player. It also has a proper stove fire for those staying in low season who may need a fire in the evenings.

The kitchen (22’) is fully fitted with a full range of appliances. There is a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker and gas hob, and microwave. A particular feature of the kitchen is the built in open barbecue fire at one end. There is a large kitchen table easily seating 10. The utility room also has a washing machine and a dryer. There is an iron and ironing board. There are 5 bedrooms, 2 with double bed, and 3 with twin beds in each. There are 2 tables outside for al fresco dining.

The pool area is safely secured in its own gated area – particularly important for children’s safety. The pool is approximately 4’6 in the shallow end and 5’6 in the deep end. (The pool is filtered.)

All bedding and towels are provided as part of the package and the maid will ensure the beds are made up and the villa cleaned for you before you arrive.

Children

There is a travel cot available if required, plus chair seat. The villa is equipped with games, books and DVD’s and the garage has a pool table and bikes you can use. There are swings near the pool area by the garage. There is plenty of space for playing any games in the land at the back of the house.

A breakage deposit of £100 is required with your booking. This is refundable upon your return. Full payment is due 8 weeks prior to arrival at the villa.

Travel Pack

When we receive your full payment, we will send you an information pack giving maps and directions to the villa. Please note, we operate a no-smoking policy inside the villa itself and request that parties staying in the villa do not smoke whilst inside the property.

Local Information.

The villa is situated inland from Alicante, in the High Vinalopo area, where the river winds its way down to the sea and the Vinalopo basin is flanked by mountains. The area formed part of the kingdom of Valencia and every town in the area attests to this with its own fortress or castle. In Villena stands the impressive ‘Castillo de Atalaya’, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Vinalopo valley. Nearby, through the narrow streets and whitewashed houses of the old part of the town are two Gothic churches, the Church of St James (15th c.) and Church of St Mary (16th c). The ‘treasure of Villena’, an impressive find dating from the Bronze Age, can be found in the Municipal Museum.

The patroness of the town of Villena is our Lady of the Virtues, (nuestra Senora de las Virtudes). The Church of Our Lady is found in the nearby village of Las Virtudes – once a haven for the locals escaping the plague , it later became a Monastery of the Order of the Augustines, before becoming home to Nuestra Senora. Our villa is situated in the tranquil setting of Las Virtudes village.

The historic town of Villena is just a couple of minutes’ drive away (3km) and offers all amenities. It is a bustling Spanish town with shops, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets, banks pharmacies and hospital, and local bodegas. There is also a railway station with frequent trains to Alicante and also to Madrid.
